As Project Engineer Functional Safety, you work together with an enthusiastic team of specialists on a wide range of innovative products. These include electronic control systems, batteries, charging stations, household appliances, robotics, and much more. To achieve this, you work closely with colleagues from other product groups within DEKRA.
From the very start of a project, you are involved as a project engineer at the customer’s table, where your technical expertise is essential. You are responsible for your projects from start to finish. You work on multiple projects simultaneously, both in the DEKRA laboratory and at customer sites. This is no problem for you—you enjoy variety in your work!
We aim to significantly expand the team in the coming years, and therefore we are looking for someone with the talent and knowledge not only to execute projects, but also to help develop new colleagues to the right level. You may also grow into a subject matter expert role.
• You independently and jointly carry out tests together with colleagues from other product groups within DEKRA. You spend part of your time in the lab (at DEKRA or on-site at the customer);
• Performing assessments based on international standards or specific customer standards;
• Together with the customer, you assess risk analyses and calculations of the probability of failures;
• You review the project’s design documentation and electronic schematics and verify that all requirements are met;
• You assess software life-cycle processes and software development models such as the V-model;
• Preparing reports of your (preliminary) test results is an important part of the role;
• You regularly consult with the customer and the project manager about progress and proactively anticipate developments;
• You are creative, enjoy contributing ideas on working more efficiently, and come up with new ideas for services to support our customers even better.
Your qualities are
HBO thinking and working level;
Familiar with assessing schedules and safety concepts. Familiarity with risk assessment techniques such as FMEA and FTA Knowledge of software life-cycle processes;
Knowledge of analog and digital electronics;
You can easily switch between diverse and complex projects;
Good communication skills;
Good command of the English language, both oral and written. If you also have a good command of the Dutch and German language, that is great;
Experience in certifying electrical equipment and knowledge of the associated standards.
You have knowledge of Functional Safety according to IEC 60730-1, IEC 60335-1 or comparable standards that include functional safety requirements.
It is also no problem for you to master international standards such as ISO 13849-1, IEC 62061 and IEC 61508.
